Archana Puran Singh, born on September 26, 1962, is an Indian actress and television personality. She is famous for her comedy roles in Bollywood movies and as a judge on comedy shows like The Kapil Sharma Show and Comedy Circus. She is best known for her supporting role in the film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and has appeared in over 100 films and TV shows.
Archana started her acting career in 1987 with the TV movie Abhishek, where she acted alongside Aditya Pancholi. That same year, she was in the movie Jalwa with Naseeruddin Shah. She also had small roles in popular films like Agneepath (1990), Saudagar (1991), Shola Aur Shabnam (1992), Aashiq Awara (1993), and Raja Hindustani (1996). She performed item songs in movies like Baaz and Judge Mujrim.
After that, she mainly took on supporting roles in Hindi comedies. Some of her notable films include Love Story 2050, Mohabbatein, Krrish, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Masti, De Dana Dan, and Bol Bachchan.
Archana became a TV host in 1993 with Wah, Kya Scene Hai on Zee TV, followed by Uncensored. She acted in the sitcom Shrimaan Shrimati, appeared in Junoon, and hosted Archana Talkies on Sony Entertainment Television. She also acted in Zee Horror Show.
She has directed sitcoms like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro and Nehle Pe Dehla and produced Samne Wali Khidki.
In 2005, she was a contestant on the dance reality show Nach Baliye 1 with her husband, Parmeet Sethi, but they were eliminated in the sixth episode. The following year, they hosted Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa together.
Later, she became a judge on comedy shows, including Comedy Circus on Sony Entertainment Television. In 2015, she appeared in The Great Indian Family Drama as Begum Paro.
In 2019, she joined The Kapil Sharma Show as a judge and played the role of Lakhan’s mother, Paramjeet, in the SAB TV serial My Name Ijj Lakhan, opposite her real-life husband, Parmeet Sethi.
